The updated range represents a significant increase in performance compared to the first Ryzen PRO 9000 generation, which consisted exclusively of 65W models. The new range now offers 120W and 170W TDP options, allowing the hardware to be used in a wider variety of systems.
Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D
The Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D is the top model of this expansion. It offers 16 cores and 32 threads with a maximum boost clock frequency of 5.5 GHz and a TDP of 170 W. This model features 3D-V cache technology, resulting in a total cache of 144 MB aimed at accelerating data-intensive professional workloads.
More Ryzen PRO 9000 for Socket AM5
Other powerful newcomers are the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965, which also offers 16 cores and a TDP of 170 W, but without 3D V-Cache, and the Ryzen 9 PRO 9955, a 12-core model with a TDP of 120 W. The Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D brings the 3D V-Cache to the 8-core segment with a total cache of 104 MB and a TDP of 120 W. The new additions are rounded off by the Ryzen 7 PRO 9755 and the Ryzen 5 PRO 9655, both of which operate at 120 W.
These processors use the AM5 socket and are specially tailored for use in companies. Unlike consumer models or the Threadripper PRO series, these chips are integrated into the AMD PRO platform, which offers enterprise-level security and system manageability.
The hardware has been developed for specific professional industries. In media and entertainment, the processors are designed for real-time editing and encoding of 4K and 8K content. In the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sector, the focus is on complex modeling and BIM. In addition, the enlarged cache and higher core count are designed to accelerate 3D CAD and mechanical simulations in manufacturing environments.
