With the Ryzen 3000 series, AMD is bringing its “Zen 2” architecture to the mass market. As with the Ryzen 2000 series, codenamed “Pinnacle Ridge” for desktop CPUs, the Ryzen 3000 (Matisse) processors are also subordinate to the Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 series. The models are continued accordingly and the APUs, which are equipped with a dedicated AMD graphics unit, are now also manufactured using the 10 nm process. The HEDT models in the form of the “Ryzen Threadripper” are also to be updated. Desktop models will continue to use the AM4 socket and backwards compatibility with motherboards with the B350, X370, B450 and X470 chipsets is also guaranteed. In addition to the X570, the B450 will also be added as a new chipset.
