Gen-2 Analog Optical Switch Architecture

At the heart of the Tartarus V2 Pro is the Gen-2 Analog Optical Switch. Unlike traditional binary switches, these analog switches allow for a fully customizable actuation range between 0.1 mm and 4.0 mm. This lets you precisely set how far a button must be pressed before the signal is sent. The device also features “Rapid Trigger” technology. This system enables an actuation sensitivity of 0.1 mm for repeated inputs, meaning the button can be reset and pressed again almost instantly without having to return to a fully neutral position.

In terms of build quality, each switch is individually lubricated and embedded in a dense layer of foam to optimize noise reduction and tactile feedback. The hardware is designed for a lifespan of 100 million keystrokes and uses textured double-shot PBT keycaps to ensure durability and prevent surface wear.

Control Interface and Input Density

The keypad features 31 programmable controls that offer extensive options for macros and function mapping. A key feature is the integrated TMR thumbstick, designed to prevent stick drift. This analog stick enables precise navigation through radial menus and in-game movements and is complemented by three additional buttons.

Ergonomic Design and Adjustability

The device features an adjustable, ergonomic palm rest that can be adapted to the user’s individual hand position. The palm rest can be extended and rotated to the left or right, allowing the user to maintain a natural wrist angle even during extended use—which is intended to reduce muscle fatigue.

The Tartarus V2 Pro supports a polling rate of 8,000 Hz, which is eight times higher than the industry standard of 1,000 Hz. This high frequency reduces the time between a physical input and the computer receiving that signal.

Users can configure the device via Razer Synapse, where up to 24 button mappings can be created and saved in three built-in profiles. A notable hardware feature is the integrated LED system, which allows users to adjust trigger points and Rapid Trigger settings directly on the device without requiring any software.
