In handheld mode, the device functions as a portable gaming console. In laptop mode, a backlit physical keyboard is available, which is designed to offer greater precision for certain game genres, such as first-person shooters. Beyond gaming, the device is designed for productivity and supports connection to external monitors to function as a mobile workstation.
The Project DualPlay Mini is powered by an Intel processor. To regulate heat dissipation, the design uses a cooling system with two fans. This configuration combines a Predator AeroBlade metal fan with a second plastic fan to ensure system stability during performance-intensive tasks. The console felt comfortable in the hand, and the joysticks on the sides were well-positioned. Above all, the finish and design are well-chosen and we found them pleasant. When opened, the speakers are housed in a stylishly designed element on the sides.
The exterior of the device features a special design detail on the back. A message reading “Acer 50 since 1976” is engraved in Morse code, marking the company’s 50th anniversary. This element ties the anniversary celebration to the Predator brand’s aesthetic.
Since this is a concept, the specifications were not final, and Acer was unable to provide a price.
