UniFie Protect 7.1: New AI detection and second-generation NVR

The update introduces custom video walls in Site Manager. This feature allows security teams and operations centers to organize multiple camera images from different locations into a single interface with low latency and flexible layout configurations. This is complemented by an updated Protect dashboard that now utilizes customizable widgets and live views that act as command centers, allowing users to trigger specific actions via built-in webhook shortcuts.

On the software side, the intelligent recognition engine has been retrained to increase accuracy in different environments. Specific camera enhancements include vehicle detection for PTZ cameras and immersive download capabilities for 360-degree cameras. In addition, the platform has expanded its ONVIF support to include audio and motion detection, making migration easier for users of third-party hardware.

UniFi Network Video Recorder G2 Pro

The hardware updates focus on the introduction of the second generation UniFi NVR. This device doubles the supported camera capacity compared to previous versions and has an integrated ViewPort for direct connection to displays. The NVR utilizes Edge AI to perform vector indexing on the device, enabling fast forensic searches and identity matching. The system remains completely local and requires no recurring license fees.

To improve interoperability, UniFi has implemented DC 09 support, which secures event transmission and improves integration with external third-party security systems. This should optimize incident response and data exchange between different platforms.

Finally, the update introduces the SuperLink KeyFob. This hardware enables remote management of distributed network architectures and provides encrypted access to system controls. The key fob has physical buttons for activating and deactivating sites as well as a special panic button for emergency alarms.
