The system requirements are divided according to target resolution and frame rate. Regardless of the quality level, the game requires at least 16 GB RAM and 150 GB SSD storage.
For users aiming for 1080p at 30 FPS, the minimum requirements are an Intel Core i3-10100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 in combination with an Nvidia GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT. To achieve 1080p at 60 FPS, the requirements increase to an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 and an Nvidia RTX 3060 12 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6600.
The high configuration, designed for 1440p at 60 FPS, recommends an Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X with an Nvidia RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800. The ultra settings for 2160p at 60 FPS use the same processor recommendations, but require high-end GPUs such as the Nvidia RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT.

Implementation of PICO upscaling
In addition to support for industry-standard upscaling tools such as Nvidia DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XeSS 2, the PC version will offer PICO. The abbreviation stands for “Progressive Image Compositor” and refers to a proprietary technology of the Decima engine developed by Guerilla Games. PICO has already been used in console environments, most notably in the PS5 Pro update for “Horizon Forbidden West”. The integration in “Death Stranding 2” marks the first time that this special upscaling method is available for PC users, with the aim of optimizing image quality and performance.
The PC version of the game is designed to support ultrawide monitors, offering native compatibility for both 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. While these features have long been standard for PC enthusiasts, the announcement also confirms that the PlayStation 5 version will be updated to support the 21:9 aspect ratio.
