The GeForce RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 Edition OC stands out from typical GPU designs with its military-inspired look. The most striking feature is the use of the same yellow color palette found in the game’s branding. Key design elements include:

  • Special cooling shroud: The cooling shroud is painted entirely yellow—a first for this product line—giving it a distinctive, aggressive look.
  • Transparent backplate: The backplate features a transparent section that reveals the printed circuit board (PCB) and displays a portrait of the character Ghost.
  • Themed accents: Visual elements from the “Call of Duty” universe can be found throughout the card, complementing the game’s atmosphere.

The graphics card’s design is directly inspired by the plot and setting of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.” The story centers on a large-scale invasion of the Korean Peninsula by North Korean forces. Players experience the conflict from the perspective of a young South Korean soldier and Captain Price, with missions taking place in various locations around the world, including New York, Paris, and Mumbai. The multiplayer components and the DMZ Extraction mode further underscore the highly intense, tactical nature of the GPU’s design.

The card is equipped with 16 GB of graphics memory, providing the necessary bandwidth for high-resolution 4K gaming and memory-intensive applications. As an OC (Overclocked) edition, it is designed to offer a performance boost over the base models, ensuring stability during the demanding sequences of modern games.

Cooling

To ensure stable performance during 4K streaming and under heavy gaming loads, the card utilizes the TRIO FROZR 4 cooling concept. This system was developed to efficiently dissipate heat while minimizing noise.

Technical cooling components include:

  • STORMFORCE fans: These fans feature specially structured, claw-like blades to optimize airflow.
  • Base plate design: A nickel-plated copper base plate ensures efficient heat transfer from the GPU core.
  • Airflow technologies: The system utilizes “Wave Curved 4.0” and “Air Antegrade Fin 2.0” to improve airflow through the heatsink.

Availability and Pricing

The MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 Edition OC is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026. No price has been announced, but the other RTX 5080 models in the store currently cost around €1,700, so we would speculate that the price will be €1,899.
