Apple iOS 27: Upcoming iOS will introduce AI wallpapers and natural language shortcuts

AI-powered visual customization

The upcoming iOS version will include a custom wallpaper creation tool linked to the Image Playground app. While Image Playground currently enables the creation of emojis and images, the version for iOS 27 is expected to be even more advanced.

Current tests indicate that there will be more lifelike image models. This suggests that the special version of the wallpaper tool may differ from the standard Image Playground interface to achieve more realistic results.

Natural language shortcuts and automation

In the Shortcuts app, the way workflows are created has changed dramatically. In the past, Shortcuts had to be configured manually, often limiting the tool to power users. iOS 27 aims to make these features accessible to a wider audience by implementing natural language processing.

Users can tell Siri their destinations or enter a description in a text field that asks: "What do you want your shortcut to do? The AI then interprets the request, creates the necessary workflow and immediately installs it for use. This transition from manual assembly to intent-based creation should increase the adoption of automation features among casual iPhone users.
