New data of the graphics card price development 2026
After the year 2022 was very turbulent and prices stabilized, they had not reached the launch prices. According to various news reports, demand also fell massively and gamers were noticeably bruised and dissatisfied. The new data for 2023 shows the current price development of the RTX 3000 series. We will include the RTX 4000 series and also prepare a chart for AMD.
You can find the latest update here:
- Graphics card price development 2026: Nvidia RTX 4000, RTX 3000 and AMD RX 7000, RX 6000 prices drop
The data we publish here in cooperation with Idealo shows that the price trend in December 2022 and January 2023 is rather upward. Demand had risen sharply in November 2022 and. Then fell sharply. In January, demand was significantly lower than in January and is at the level of June or August 2022. Meanwhile, the average price of graphics cards was below €800.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 30 graphics card prices 2024
The RTX 30 series is currently only worth buying below the RTX 3060 Ti (€ 280). This means that the RTX 3000 series is largely phased out, as there are plenty of graphics cards in the RTX 40 series. We have already covered the new graphics cards in the GeFroce RTX 40 series with the GeForce RTX 4080 review and RTX 4070 Ti review. The GeForce RTX 4090 is available from €1,749 as an absolute high-end model for which there is no competition from AMD. The GeForce RTX 4080 Ti is still available for €1,149, but the RTX 4080 Super from our test is now also available, replacing the RTX 4080. The GeForce RTX 4070 and the newer RTX 4070 Super are then in the mid-range price segment of €540-600. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super and the RTX 4070 Ti are slightly more expensive at €700-800.
In August 2024, the GeForce RTX 4080 Super (test) in particular dropped in price from €1,190 to €999**.

AMD Radeon RX 7000 and RX 6000 graphics card prices 2024
A very interesting constellation has been forming at AMD since 2024. The Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards have gone completely EOL and are hardly available anymore. However, AMD has positioned itself very strongly with the current Radeon RX 7000 models and has focused on price-performance and thus also increased the pressure on NVIDIA. Recently, the cards have all been in stock and are also very well positioned in terms of price. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is the spearhead and proved itself several times in the tests as air-cooled variant in white as well as water-cooled RX 7900 XTX from PowerColor. However, the Radeon RX 7900 XT from our test is also suitable for enthusiasts, but a strong purchase recommendation is especially the Radeon RX 7900 GRE. For savers, AMD offers the Radeon RX 7600 from €267 and then it goes up to the Radeon RX 7700 XT, which is available from €359. There is also the Radeon RX 7800 XT in the mid-range for €389, which is also available in white. AMD currently offers a well-covered lineup!
The smaller models of the Radeon RX 7000 series have dropped in price and the Radeon RX 6500 XT has gone up in price from €149 and the Radeon RX 6400 from €122 and has now been added to our list. - Radeon RX 7900 XTX from 944€ (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 7900 XT from 699€ (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 7900 GRE from 577€]37 (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 7800 XT from 489€]38 (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 7700 XT from 409€]39 (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 7600 XT from 339€]40 (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 7600 from 259€]41 (Affiliate) - **Radeon RX 6500 XT from 149€ (Affiliate) - Radeon RX 6400 from 122 € (Affiliate)
Graphics cards / Ethereum price development
In previous years, the Etherium price had a very strong influence on the prices and demand for graphics cards because miners tried to capture many cards. The price has since risen again but has no visible influence on graphics card prices, as far as can be seen from the Idealo charts.
Graphics card price development 2022
AMD Radeon RX6000 graphics cards have seen a 3% price increase in just 2 weeks, while NVIDIA RTX 3000 models have seen a further reduction of the same percentage. It's important to note that NVIDIA card pricing is skewed by the recently launched RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti models, both of which are priced at a premium despite being released more than a month ago. All of the models we have listed in our graphics card comparison 2022 had seen massive price cuts after they were simply unaffordable and hard to come by. We still expect graphics card prices to slide a little further in the coming months - probably by €100-200 each, but the situation could become more difficult again towards Christmas.
As for the 2022 graphics card price trend, this has also had an impact on retailers, who still have to pay a premium price to distributors. They are still reluctant to reduce their margins, which means that prices are only falling more slowly. Prices that fluctuate too much are very toxic for retailers and mean that many retailers are reluctant to stock the cards because otherwise they will incur massive losses if the price collapses again.

In terms of price, NVIDIA has made some changes to the top RTX 4090 models in particular, as this card has become more expensive. The new super variants have remained fairly stable. The price of the mid-range models has also risen somewhat, which surprised us, as AMD has pushed prices down further here. AMD's range has also been greatly expanded and gamers get a lot for their money here.

After more than a month had passed, the prices have fallen once again. The biggest difference can be seen in the AMD RX 6000 graphics cards. These have almost all fallen by €100-400. The high-priced RX 6900 XT and RX 6950 XT in particular have fallen drastically in price, by €400. The GeForce RTX 3090 TI has fallen even further, from €1890 to €1,349 for custom variants. The other models have also become 5-10 percent cheaper. Before the launch of the RTX 40 series is therefore a good time to buy if you can do without the new generation, which will consume more power.

On average, prices have fallen again by 5-15% compared to before. Availability also remains good. A good situation for gamers. AMD's reference models are also available directly from AMD, which is positive as they are sold at RRP prices.
We have updated the prices in our list.

Prices for graphics cards have fallen sharply and, according to Geizhals, many models are as low as they were when they were launched. Although they are still a long way from the manufacturer's recommendation, they have reached the point where graphics cards can be bought again. Of course, it is desirable that they drop another 10-20%, but they seem to have stabilized for now.
We have updated the prices in our list.

Due to the rapid fall in the price of Bitcoin and thus all other cryptocurrencies, demand from miners has also fallen. The availability of graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA has also improved somewhat in recent weeks. Both of these factors have led to a reduction in the price of graphics cards on the market. Unfortunately, however, prices have come a long way from where they used to be and are unlikely to return to the same level. Below is a list of prices compiled by our colleagues at 3DCenter.

Data from other countries shows that prices have not really stabilized yet. For AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards, they have even risen sharply in some cases between October and November!
In Germany, Idealo shows a slight increase, but this varies depending on the manufacturer model. Price fluctuations are normal and we are approaching the Christmas period, when demand is generally higher.

As already speculated, graphics card prices have risen by an average of 7% since August due to an upward trend. An improvement is currently not expected as the Christmas business is approaching and system integrators will secure more graphics cards overproportionally, which will then be missing on the market. Nvidia and the foundries have already spoken of bottlenecks into next year.

Prices have now risen again by around €200 across the board. After a downward trend a month ago, things are now looking a little gloomier again. Among other things, prices are being driven up by the realization that miners have cracked Nvidia's LHR and can now diligently mine at full power. But there is also the fact that the chip manufacturer TSMC is raising prices by 10-20%. The announcement that Nvidia will now be able to deliver **fewer of its GeForce RTX 3060s to the market in the coming weeks is also pushing prices up.

Update: Finally there is also the Radeon RX 6600 XT from our test, which enters the rankjng here at the lowest price.
Status: Updated on 03.04.2021
The prices of Nvidia cards have fallen again, in some cases by €100-200. With AMD RX 6000 graphics cards there is a back and forth and some models have become a little more expensive, while others have dropped in price - especially the Eisnteiger models.
