Both devices have a triple camera configuration with a 50 MP main sensor and Leica optics at its heart. To differentiate the models, the 17T Pro is equipped with a 1/1.31-inch sensor, while the standard model 17T uses a 1/1.55-inch sensor. Both integrate the Leica UltraPure design and hybrid Summilux lenses to improve dynamic range and depth of field.
A key innovation in both models is the 50 MP 5x Leica telephoto camera with optical image stabilization. This hardware enables a versatile range of shots, from 30cm macro photography to 10x optical zoom and a maximum 120x AI Ultra Zoom. The 17T Pro further enhances video capabilities with support for 4K recording at 60 fps and a natural bokeh effect.
New software features include “Leica Live Moment” and “Leica Live Portrait”, which capture motion just before a still image is taken to provide more context for the scene. The Pro model exclusively features “Live Cinematography”, which allows these moments to be recorded in 4K with seamless zoom effects.
Display specifications and eye protection
The series introduces Xiaomi Vision Care, a system to reduce blue light, screen flickering and motion blur. This technology has been awarded a quadruple eye protection certification by TÜV Rheinland.
In terms of hardware, both smartphones use 1.5K AMOLED displays with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits for good visibility in direct sunlight. The Pro model supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz and can be dimmed to 1 nit for use in dark rooms. It also features symmetrical 1.29 mm bezels achieved through LIPO packaging. The standard 17T model uses a 120 Hz refresh rate and a more compact frame designed for one-handed operation.
Battery and computing power
Xiaomi has implemented silicon-carbon battery technology to increase energy density. The 17T Pro has a 7000 mAh battery, an increase of 27 percent over the previous generation, while the 17T has a 6500 mAh battery, an increase of 18 percent. Charging options for the Pro model include 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the standard model supports 67W wired charging. Both devices are compatible with third-party chargers via the PPS standard.
MediaTek chipsets provide the performance. The 17T Pro runs on the 3nm Dimensity 9500, while the 17T uses the 4nm Dimensity 8500 Ultra. To manage heat build-up during intense gaming sessions or multitasking, Xiaomi has integrated the 3D IceLoop system, which uses advanced vapor-liquid separation to stabilize processor temperature.
