Processor architecture and performance profiles

The Kron Mini K5 uses a 2P+4LPE core layout that combines two performance cores with four low-power efficiency cores. This configuration gives the system a maximum P-core boost frequency of 4.60 GHz and includes 6 MB of L3 cache. In order to harmonize heat generation and performance in a small housing, AceMagic has set the configured Thermal Design Power (cTDP) to a base value of 15 W, whereby up to 35 W can be achieved in Turbo mode. The device is equipped with 16 GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM as system memory. Storage is provided by a 512 GB M.2 Gen 3 x 4 NVMe SSD, which forms the basis for fast boot times and data access.

The device offers a variety of connectivity options to support multi-monitor configurations and high-speed peripherals. Image output is via three ports: an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort 1.4 port and a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 passthrough.

The USB interfaces are extensive and include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports with 5 Gbps and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports with 10 Gbps. The system also has a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port with 20 Gbit/s. For the network connection, the device offers a 2.5 GbE LAN connection, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Kron Mini K5 offers flexible power supply options for different working environments. In addition to a dedicated 2-pin DC power input socket, the USB-C port also functions as a power input, supporting up to 100W. This allows users to utilize single cable configurations when connecting the Mini PC to compatible USB PD docking stations.
