To counteract the vulnerability typically found in thin devices, Huawei has implemented an aluminum chassis in combination with an internal load-bearing structure. This architecture increases the bending stiffness by 60 percent, which has earned the tablet the TÜV Rheinland certification for ultra-thin bending strength.
The device is available in the colors Space Gray and Blue, with the latter variant featuring a “Luminous Finish” that changes its appearance depending on the incidence of light.
Display and visual technology
The tablet is equipped with a 13.2-inch 3K Flexible OLED screen. An important technical innovation is the PaperMatte technology, which prevents reflections and glare and thus offers a visual experience similar to that of real paper. The display makes optimal use of the available surface area - with a screen-to-body ratio of 94 percent and narrow, 3.55 mm wide bezels - avoiding notches or camera cut-outs. To ensure comfort during extended use, the display has been awarded TÜV Rheinland “Full Care Display 5.0” certification.
Workflow and hardware integration
For more productivity, the MatePad Pro Max uses “Live Multitasking”, which allows users to operate three applications in parallel on a single screen. The hardware experience is enhanced by the Glide Keyboard, which offers a full typing experience with 1.8 mm key travel and an integrated touchpad. The keyboard also serves as a charging station for the accompanying stylus.
In addition to its internal functions, the tablet acts as a power bank for other electronic devices. It supports 40W reverse charging, allowing users to charge smartphones directly from the tablet's battery.
Availability and prices
The device will be available via the official Huawei online store, the flagship store in Berlin and authorized retail partners. Prices vary depending on the color and accessory package: The blue version bundled with the Glide Keyboard costs €1,299, while the grey version without the keyboard is available for €1,099. Customers who purchase the device through official channels before July 31, 2026 will receive a package including the M-Pencil Pro, the FreeBuds Pro 4 and a 12-month extension of the standard warranty as well as a discount code worth €100.
