Alphacool launches Apex Monoblocks for X870 and AM5 Motherboards

Integrated Thermal Management for CPU, VRM, and M.2

The new Apex series offers comprehensive cooling protection by combining the cooling of three critical areas of the motherboard into a single block. In addition to the processor, these monoblocks actively cool the voltage regulator modules (VRMs) and the M.2 NVMe SSD located beneath the CPU socket. A special variant is available for the ROG STRIX X870E-E Gaming WIFI, in which the design has been adapted to actively cool three separate M.2 NVMe SSDs beneath the socket—rather than just a single drive.

To address the specific thermal characteristics of AM5 CPUs, Alphacool has implemented an offset cooler baseplate. This design ensures that the coolant flow is precisely directed toward the processor’s primary hotspot. The internal architecture utilizes a cross-slot structure in combination with 3D Jetplate 2.0 technology. These features increase the water pressure within the block, thereby improving heat transfer efficiency and overall heat dissipation from the copper cooling surfaces to the liquid medium.

These monoblocks are designed for installation in custom loops and feature full-coverage copper cooling fins for maximum thermal conductivity. Depending on the model selected, optional aRGB lighting is available that blends seamlessly into the existing system aesthetics. The dimensions are tailored to the respective motherboard layouts to ensure a precise fit and smooth installation.
