The X1 laser platform is positioned as a solution for fragmentation in the laser industry. Until now, users had to choose between galvo systems for high speed and gantry architectures for larger formats, which often required multiple machines and different software workflows to process various materials. The X1 combines these functions, thereby reducing the need for separate specialized equipment.
Technical Specifications and Motion System
The platform uses a four-axis motion system called “Hybrid Motion.” This configuration combines the large-area processing capabilities of a gantry system with the fast scanning of a galvo laser. The toolset includes a 55-W CO₂ laser head and a galvo head equipped with a 20-W diode laser. This configuration enables the system to achieve processing speeds of up to 6,000 mm/s across the entire working area.
Modular Laser Integration
To accommodate a wider range of materials, the X1 features “Laser Swap” technology. This modular system enables the operation of different laser sources via a shared beam path and a central galvo head. Although the system comes standard with CO₂ and diode laser options, it can be expanded to include a 30-W fiber laser, a 60-W MOPA laser, and a 5-W UV laser. This modularity allows companies to increase their material compatibility without having to purchase entirely new machines.
Design
The machine is based on a UniCast frame manufactured using a 4,000-metric-ton high-pressure die-casting process. By using an automotive-grade aluminum alloy, xTool has replaced over 268 screws and nearly 100 individual parts with three monolithic cast structures. This design decision aims to reduce assembly tolerances and improve thermal stability during continuous professional use.

For the German market, the schedule is as follows:
- Pre-order phase: Begins in late September.
- Official launch: Late October.
