Updates to the Vulkan API

A key component of this release is the implementation of VK_NV_low_latency Revision 2. This update ensures immediate Proton compatibility for the Reflex feature in Vulkan-native games, allowing the system to utilize low-latency libraries originally developed for Windows. In addition, the driver now supports the VK_EXT_cluster_acceleration_structure extension and includes various general bug fixes for the Vulkan driver.

System Stability and Power Management

The R615 driver resolves several operational issues, including Alt-Tab and startup freezes when using Smooth Motion. It also resolves an Xid error that previously occurred when loading the title “PRAGMATA” under Wayland.

To improve power efficiency, NVIDIA has introduced a new kernel driver option: “RmDisableDisplayGlitchPerfLimit.” This setting is designed to reduce idle power consumption for users with multi-monitor configurations.

Kernel Driver Improvements

The open-source kernel driver now supports cgroups-based memory partitioning. This feature enables more precise control and allocation of memory resources at the system level. The update also includes a number of general bug fixes to improve the driver’s overall performance.
