The UniFi Travel Router was specifically designed for mobility and features a compact design for easy transport. The device is powered via USB, which simplifies setup in various environments. To ensure compatibility with different network infrastructures, the router supports both wired and wireless uplinks and is capable of bypassing captive portals, which are commonly found in hotels and public spaces.
The latest updates to the Travel Router series have focused on automation and security. The system now includes enhanced travel automation to optimize connectivity between different locations. In addition, UniFi has expanded its VPN capabilities by integrating AmneziaWG, thereby offering users improved data privacy and more flexible options for secure tunnel connections.
The new Travel Router Long-Range model retains the compact dimensions of the original device while offering improved Wi-Fi performance. The most significant technical innovation is a high-gain antenna array that significantly extends the device’s Wi-Fi range. This allows the router to maintain a stable connection to distant Wi-Fi sources while simultaneously providing a local network for connected devices.
The router is available from Ubiquiti for €89 (net) or 99 USD.
