The system is powered by 3rd generation Intel Core processors, with a choice between the Core 5 320 and the Core Ultra 7 355. A key difference between the two configurations is the performance of the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The Core Ultra version delivers 49 TOPS, meeting the requirements for Copilot+ PC certification, while the standard Core model offers 16 TOPS.
Users can configure the device with LPDDR5X-7467 memory from 8GB to 32GB. Storage options include PCIe Gen4 SSDs with capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. The internal components are housed in a CNC-machined aluminum housing, which is available in “Sky” and “Storm” versions.
Display and multimedia specifications
The XPS 13 has a 13.4-inch InfinityEdge touchscreen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. The panel uses a variable refresh rate between 30 and 120 Hz and achieves a peak brightness of 500 nits. For color accuracy and HDR content, the display supports 100% DCI-P3, DisplayHDR 400 and Dolby Vision.
Multimedia features include a 1080p IR camera compatible with Windows Hello and a four-speaker system with Dolby Atmos support.
Connectivity and power management
Depending on the processor selected, the laptop is equipped with either two Thunderbolt 4 ports or two USB Type-C ports. Both configurations support DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery. The device also integrates the latest wireless standards, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.
Battery life is ensured by a 52 Wh battery, which according to Dell enables up to 17 hours of video streaming. The system also supports ExpressCharge 1.0 for faster charging times.
XPS 13 prices and availability
The XPS 13 is being launched with a tiered pricing structure. A special price of 599 US dollars applies for students, while the regular retail price is 699 US dollars.
