The F9 series uses a dual-chip architecture to ensure stability during intensive tasks. The POCO F9 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and achieves an AnTuTu score of 4,165,108. Both the Ultra and Pro models feature the VisionBoost D8 chipset for image processing, which enables a frame rate of up to 185 FPS. To support these speeds, the WildBoost Engine reduces display latency by 3 ms compared to standard 120 FPS output. The series natively supports over 20 games at 185 FPS, with an additional five titles supported via Smart Frame Rate.
Control precision is ensured by an Instant-Touch sampling rate of 4,800 Hz and an ultra-high gyro sampling rate of 200 Hz. Thermal management is handled by the POCO 3D IceLoop cooling system to prevent performance throttling during extended use. The F9 Ultra offers storage options of up to 1 TB.
Display and Industrial Design
Both devices feature 185-Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED displays. The F9 Ultra uses a 6.9-inch panel, while the F9 Pro features a 6.59-inch screen. HyperRGB technology utilizes a full RGB subpixel structure to deliver 2K-level detail while reducing power consumption. The series introduces the M11 display material, which enables a peak brightness of 4,500 nits in standard scenarios and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content. To protect eye health, the devices feature Xiaomi Vision Care, which is certified by TÜV Rheinland for four-fold eye protection.
The two models differ in design:
- POCO F9 Ultra: Features a dynamic light element on the back for notifications, calls, and music.
- POCO F9 Pro: Available in “Aurora Green” with a light-up design that spans the entire back and glows in the dark after being exposed to light.
Audio by Bose
The integration of Bose audio optimization differs between the two models. The F9 Ultra features a 2.1-channel system consisting of two 1115D stereo speakers and a dedicated 1620 subwoofer for enhanced bass and an extended frequency range. The F9 Pro uses two 1115F Super-Linear stereo speakers with a sealed-cavity design for balanced mids and clear highs. Users can choose between the “Dynamic” and “Balanced” sound profiles. Additionally, a Game Audio mode is included, which amplifies the sound of footsteps and spatial cues, thereby aiding directional awareness while gaming.
Battery Capacity and Charging Systems
The F9 series offers higher energy density thanks to silicon-carbon battery technology. The POCO F9 Ultra features an 8,050-mAh battery, the largest to date in the F series. The POCO F9 Pro is equipped with a 6,330-mAh battery. Charging is handled by the HyperCharge system, which supports 100 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. Both devices support reverse charging and can deliver up to 27 W via cable and 22.5 W wirelessly to power other peripherals.
Camera System and Optical Features
Both models feature a 200-MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 32-MP front camera. While the main sensors are similar, the telephoto hardware differs:
- POCO F9 Ultra: Features a 5x periscope telephoto camera that supports 10x in-sensor zoom and 20x AI Ultra Zoom.
- POCO F9 Pro: Features a 50-MP floating telephoto camera with 2.5x zoom and a minimum focus distance of 10 cm for macro photography.
Video recording is supported in 4K Ultra HD via a “Live Cinematography” feature that automates focus transitions.
