The CP167 supports up to eight 9.5 mm E1.S SSDs. To handle the massive data throughput of PCIe Gen5, the enclosure utilizes four MCIO 8i interfaces. This configuration allows each individual SSD to operate at PCIe 5.0 x4 bandwidth and achieve speeds of up to 128 Gbps depending on specific drive performance.
A key focus of the CP167 is its advanced thermal management. As PCIe Gen5 SSDs have significantly higher performance and heat dissipation, conventional air cooling methods often cannot maintain efficiency and generate excessive noise. By integrating water cooling directly into the hot-swap platform, the CP167 aims to provide a quieter operating environment and more consistent thermal stability, which is critical for maintaining peak performance in dense server configurations.
From an operational perspective, the chassis is designed for quick maintenance. It features eight front-accessible, removable bays that support hot-plugging and allow system administrators to install or replace drives without powering down the system or opening the main enclosure. This architecture is designed to reduce downtime for system integrators and corporate IT teams.
The physical construction consists of a rugged all-metal enclosure equipped with an EMI grounding design to meet enterprise-class electromagnetic interference standards. In addition, status LEDs are mounted on the front panel to provide technicians with instant visual confirmation of drive activity and readiness.
