Current prices in Germany show that the starting price for the GeForce RTX 5090 has surpassed the 5,200-euro mark. This means that all models listed on Geizhals as well as in the NVIDIA Store are now priced above this level!
- The MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G Ventus 3X OC is among the more affordable options at €5,249, although it cost just €2,672 back in January.
- The GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC 32G is also priced at €5,249
- The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 OC, on the other hand, is already priced at €5,299

This price volatility isn’t limited to Europe. In the United States, retail prices for the RTX 5090 surpassed the $5,000 mark a few weeks ago. Although NVIDIA has not issued a public statement regarding these market fluctuations, the company has occasionally offered graphics cards at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price as part of limited, event-based sales promotions, such as during PAX West in the U.S.
The gap between the official retail price and the current market value has widened significantly. Last year, the price of the GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition in Germany was reduced to 2,099 euros. Current cards from partner manufacturers are now selling for about two to three times that amount. Availability of the Founders Edition through the usual distribution channels remains limited, which continues to push buyers toward overpriced models from partner manufacturers.
It’s a bleak outlook as we head toward the end of the year, when gamers typically still want to upgrade. With prices like these, it’s all going to be difficult.
