Ubiquiti sticks to its usual simple and compact design for the box. Upon opening the box, we find everything neatly organized in a custom-fit cardboard insert.
The contents can be summarized quickly, as nothing more than the bare essentials is included. In addition to the adapter itself, the manufacturer includes a 49-centimeter-long USB-C cable that features a stylish fabric-wrapped jacket and feels truly high-quality to the touch. The usual printed instructions are also included.
However, there is one minor criticism regarding the packaging material. Both the adapter and the documentation are additionally wrapped in plastic film. In our opinion, this could have been omitted given the otherwise well-designed cardboard insert, in order to avoid unnecessary waste.

10G Ethernet Adapter in Detail - Design & Build Quality
The first time we pick it up, we immediately notice its pleasantly substantial weight. Despite its compact dimensions, the adapter is extremely solidly built. The housing is largely made of a matte-anodized aluminum alloy, which visually complements modern laptops perfectly while also dissipating heat from the internal hardware. The side panels are made of dark polycarbonate that blends in seamlessly. Ubiquiti has also placed a subtle company logo on the top.
In terms of dimensions, we find the device nicely compact. It takes up hardly any space on the desk and slips easily into a bag when needed. Unlike some competing products, Ubiquiti has completely done away with tiny, annoying fans. The system operates purely passively and is therefore completely silent. Furthermore, no external power supply is needed, as the adapter draws the required power directly from the laptop’s USB port (bus-powered).
The ports are distributed across both ends. On the front is the RJ45 jack for the network cable, which also integrates two small status LEDs for link and activity. On the back is the USB-C port for connecting to a PC or Mac. The included USB-C cable, at 49 centimeters, is a truly practical length. It’s long enough to position the adapter flexibly without ending up with a tangled mess of cables on your desk. The fabric-wrapped cable feels great, and the connectors snap firmly into the ports.
Test Setup
For our test, we put the Ubiquiti adapter through a realistic real-world scenario. We’re primarily interested in how easily the adapter integrates into an existing system and whether it works seamlessly with modern hardware. To completely rule out potential sources of error in the network or bottlenecking switches, we’re using a direct point-to-point connection between the computer and our network storage. To ensure that the full 10 GbE reaches the network level without any bottlenecks at the computer interface, the adapter on the PC or Mac must have a USB4 or Thunderbolt (3/4) port.

Practical Use and Measurement Results
In everyday use, the Ubiquiti adapter quickly demonstrates its strengths. Integration with macOS is incredibly straightforward. After plugging the included USB-C cable into the MacBook Pro, the system requires neither a manual driver installation nor a restart. The adapter is immediately and properly recognized by the operating system as a 10-Gigabit interface and automatically provides the maximum connection speed. A major advantage of the built-in Marvell chipset is its network flexibility. Many older or dedicated 10G adapters support only 10 Gigabit or revert directly to slow Gigabit LAN. The Ubiquiti adapter, on the other hand, supports true NBase-T and is fully backward compatible with multi-gigabit standards at 5 Gbit/s and 2.5 Gbit/s. In a quick cross-check using the 2.5G Ethernet port on the UGREEN DXP4800 Pro, the adapter seamlessly delivered the full 2.5 Gbit/s over the network cable. Things get interesting during the actual data transfer between our test computer and the NAS via the direct 10G connection. The Marvell chipset delivers a solid performance here. The connection remains absolutely stable even during prolonged copy operations and never drops out. We did not observe any spontaneous connection drops, performance fluctuations, or temperature-induced throttling of the data rate during the test. When measuring performance via the fast NVMe storage pool, the adapter demonstrates impressive throughput rates. For read operations, we measured a stable 1.18 GB/s, thereby achieving nearly full utilization of the 10-GbE connection. For writes, we achieved peak speeds of up to 1.05 GB/s, while average transfer rates were around 980 MB/s. For everyday use, this translates to exceptionally high performance, as massive video files or several hundred gigabytes of data can be transferred over the cable in a matter of seconds. The adapter thus delivers exactly the kind of massive performance you’d expect from a 10GbE interface in your home.
In our tests on the MacBook Pro, we achieved the following values:

Since Ubiquiti relies on passive cooling for the enclosure, the adapter operates completely without any noisy fans and runs absolutely silently on your desk. Instead, the heat generated by the high-performance chipset is dissipated directly to the metal surface of the housing. In idle mode, the surface temperature stabilizes at just under 40 degrees Celsius. Under continuous full load, the metal body warms up noticeably, reaching a measured 45 degrees Celsius. The housing effectively acts as a heat sink here, which is completely normal for compact 10GbE adapters of this design and poses no risk whatsoever during everyday use.
Conclusion
In real-world testing, the Ubiquiti UACC-Adapter-RJ45-USBC-10GE proves to be a top-notch solution for easily adding an extremely fast network interface to modern laptops and compact computers. The sturdy housing feels well-designed and stands out above all for its completely silent operation. On macOS, setup is completely hassle-free right out of the box. In terms of performance, this compact device leaves nothing to be desired. The connection remains rock-solid even during long data transfers, while the built-in chipset fully utilizes the available bandwidth. Its backward compatibility with slower networks is also impressive, making the adapter pleasantly flexible for everyday use.
The only real side effect of the purely passive and whisper-quiet cooling is a noticeable warming of the metal surface under continuous load. This is technically unavoidable, is completely normal for this performance class, and does not compromise stability at any time.
With a retail price of 175.50 (Affiliate), the Ubiquiti adapter is specifically aimed at demanding users, creatives, and IT professionals who regularly transfer large amounts of data over the local network.
