Both the “AI Mini Workstation” MS-S1 MAX-P495 and the AI Agent NAS N5 MAX-P495 are available with the new Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495. While they’re also available with the Strix Halo combo, that configuration comes with a different RAM setup. According to official figures, the performance of AMD’s APU combo is said to reach 131 TOPS in AI compute, and this is paired with an impressive 192 GB of LPDDR5x memory operating at 8,533 MT/s. Up to 160 GB of RAM can apparently be allocated to load the models into “graphics memory,” which is, in fact, shared RAM.
In addition to the N5 MAX-P495 NAS, the internal layout and individual components were also shown, including the board with the APU. Minisforum informed us that this is actually the PCB featuring the Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 from the Gorgon Halo generation.
For demonstration purposes, you can use the laptop next to it to download and run models from the NAS yourself to test its performance. However, due to time constraints, we were unable to do so.
The N5 MAX-P495 is also designed to support up to 200 TB of storage via HDDs. Minisforum did not provide us with a price, but the model with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 64 GB LPDDR5 is already listed for €2,719, and the model with 128 GB LPDDR5 is listed for €3,839. We expect the new configuration to easily cost €6,000 or €8,000, as with Acemagic.
