Technical improvements and bug fixes

A major focus of this release is the improved resilience of orchestrations, ensuring that system-wide configurations are applied more consistently. On the security front, the update fixes a firewall policy ordering issue when using blueprints, which is critical to maintaining intended traffic and security rules.

Several connection issues have also been fixed. For administrators managing IPsec site-to-site VPNs, a bug that previously prevented saving settings for separate IKEv2 networks has been fixed. In addition, the update fixes a reporting error where network ports were incorrectly marked as down even though there were active data connections.

User interface fixes include correcting port numbers in the port operation selector on certain switch models and eliminating a dead-end path that hotspot operators were encountering. The update also ensures that DNS support is no longer incorrectly enabled for IoT WLAN broadcasts.

Deployment and compatibility specifications

There is a strategic change to the deployment recommendations for self-hosted users. Moving to UniFi OS Server is now recommended for all self-hosted environments to ensure full access to the latest platform integrations and features.

In terms of hardware compatibility, the native application is supported on UniFi OS 3.1.6 or higher for a variety of consoles including UDM, UDR, Express and various UCG models such as Ultra, Max, Fiber and Industrial. UDM-Pro, UDM-SE and UDW have been compatible since UniFi OS 5.1.5.

For users performing manual updates via SSH, the system now requires strictly compatible packages and any incompatible files will be rejected during the installation process. Users running older versions of UniFi OS (pre 3.1.6) on UDM and UDR hardware will continue to use the standard UniFi network application.
