At the heart of the platform is the HighPoint Rocket 1604L Gen5 Retimer AIC. With this adapter, users can consolidate up to four Hailo-8 or Hailo-10H M.2 AI acceleration modules into a single PCIe x16 slot.
When equipped with four Hailo-10H modules, the system delivers a total local inference performance of 160 TOPS (INT4). This modular approach enables IT architects to scale computing power according to specific workload requirements without requiring multiple PCIe slots.
To verify the platform’s efficiency, benchmarks were conducted using configurations of four modules. The system achieved 4,144 FPS for YOLOv8n and 2,173 FPS for YOLOv5s. These results demonstrate that the platform can handle fast data acquisition and real-time image processing across all four M.2 ports simultaneously. A key component of this performance is the Active Retimer Architecture, which processes signals at 32 GT/s. This ensures deterministic I/O and guarantees full signal integrity, with measured performance variations between modules remaining below 0.01%. The data confirms that the system scales linearly, meaning that each additional module adds a proportional amount of computing power.
The Rocket 1604L was designed for use in confined environments. With a footprint of 167 mm, the card fits into standard 1U and 2U industrial enclosures and offers an alternative for systems where full-size GPUs are not feasible.
To support intensive inference workloads around the clock, the hardware features a full-length aluminum heatsink paired with a high-static-pressure fan assembly. This thermal configuration is designed to maintain stability during extended periods of high-intensity processing.
The Enterprise Edge AI Compute Platform utilizes standard M.2 form factors and PCIe Gen5 connectivity to ensure compatibility with existing industrial hardware. This enables system integrators and value-added resellers (VARs) to deploy the solution through standard distribution channels.
The [HighPoint Rocket 1604L (Review)][1] is available now through global distributors. The accompanying Hailo-8 and Hailo-10H M.2 modules are available through Hailo’s official sales channels.
