The Arm64 version of Proxmox VE provides a centralized platform for managing both Linux containers (LXC) and virtual machines (VMs) on supported Arm hardware. Users have access to the standard web-based management interface and the system’s core features, including software-defined networking (SDN), high-availability (HA) clustering, backup tools, and storage management. The platform is based on Linux and KVM, ensuring a consistent user experience across different hardware architectures.

In particular, this version supports systems that utilize NVIDIA Grace and NVIDIA Vera CPU architectures. These platforms are designed for resource-intensive workloads such as cloud computing, accelerated computing, and training and inference in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). By supporting these architectures, the platform offers enterprises more options for building an energy-efficient infrastructure.

The development and technical validation of the Arm64 Edition were carried out in collaboration with NVIDIA and Supermicro using NVIDIA Grace Hopper Superchip server systems. This process ensured that the entire platform stack was tested for enterprise production environments prior to release.

A key focus of the Arm64 edition is achieving feature parity with existing x86-64 deployments. Proxmox has validated the integration of enterprise storage technologies, specifically ZFS and Ceph. According to the technical specifications, these storage solutions deliver the same level of performance, reliability, and functionality on Arm64 as they do on x86 architectures.

Proxmox Virtual Environment for Arm64 is available as open-source software. It can be deployed via bare-metal ISO images or through official package repositories, which are operated in parallel with the existing x86-64 repositories.
