The Xbox Series X25 is an optical variant of the existing hardware. It has the same performance specifications and the same 1TB of internal storage as the standard Xbox Series X. The main change is to the chassis, which has a translucent OG Green finish, reminiscent of the design of the first generation Xbox console.
The device's visually recognizable features include a glowing green X and a special 25th anniversary logo on the front of the console. Microsoft has hinted that other design elements are included that allude to older hardware, but full details of these features have not yet been revealed.
Specifications of the special edition controller
The console comes with the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition. This peripheral follows the same translucent green aesthetic as the console. The layout adopts the original ABXY button color scheme and green accents.
The designers have incorporated specific nods to the original Duke controller, particularly in the bumpers, which are reminiscent of the black and white button layout of that era. In addition, the battery cover and back are completely transparent, leaving the internal Xbox logo visible.
Xbox Series X25 release
The console and controller are due to launch simultaneously in selected markets in November this year. Although they will be available as a bundle, the X25 controller will also be sold separately. Microsoft has not yet released any information on the retail price or pre-order period.
