Gaming stability and feature fixes

The latest driver offers targeted fixes for several popular titles. In “Apex Legends”, the update eliminates image errors that players previously experienced after long periods of play. Likewise, “World of Warcraft” receives general stability improvements to ensure a smoother gaming experience.

Technical adjustments have also been made to the DLSS and Smooth Motion frameworks. For users with multi-monitor configurations, stability has been improved when V-SYNC is used in conjunction with DLSS Frame Generation. In addition, NVIDIA has fixed a number of issues related to the Smooth Motion feature, including game crashes at launch and visual artifacts such as ghosting and stuttering in titles using DirectX 11.

However, the company noted that an issue persists where DLSS settings may appear grayed out in certain applications - a behavior related to the previous driver version 615.47.

Hardware compatibility and system fixes

Beyond gaming, the 610.62 WHQL driver introduces several fixes for hardware communication and screen management. A specific frame pacing issue affecting Ada architecture GPUs when using G-SYNC on certain monitors has been fixed.

Significant improvements have been made to the way the driver handles monitor detection. Previously, some monitors were incorrectly labeled as “NVIDIA NV-Failsafe” due to an error when reading the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID). This update ensures correct monitor detection and fixes a bug that prevented certain screens from waking from sleep mode after going into sleep mode.

At the system level, the update improves overall stability to prevent crashes when the system is unable to reallocate memory, ensuring more consistent performance under heavy workloads.
