The Reno16 series introduces a design language that focuses on spatial effects. The “Pop White” model, in particular, utilizes HoloVerse technology, which employs millions of micro-lenses to create a multidimensional surface that changes depending on the viewing angle.
The physical construction is based on a one-piece, cold-formed design in which the back seamlessly blends into the camera module. In terms of dimensions, the Reno16 and Reno16 Pro feature 6.32-inch displays and frames made of aerospace-grade aluminum, while the Reno16 F offers a larger 6.57-inch screen for media and gaming.
Imaging and Creative Software
Designed specifically for content creators, the series features a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle front camera with a 100-degree field of view to make group photos easier. The rear camera system consists of a triple-camera setup with an OIS-enabled main camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. The Reno16 Pro stands out with a 200-megapixel main sensor for high-resolution shots.
Software enhancements include the “Pop Cam” feature, which lets users apply analog and digital film styles. In addition, a new “Create” section in the Gallery app uses AI to generate animated collages and 3D pop-out effects. Video recording has been enhanced with “4K Auto Straighten” and “Dual View Video 2.0,” which stabilize footage and optimize camera transitions.
AI Integration via ColorOS 16
The series introduces ColorOS 16, which offers several AI-centric tools. A new physical “AI Snap” button allows users to instantly save information to “AI Mind Space.” Within this ecosystem, “AI Bill Manager” automatically identifies digital receipts to create expense reports, while “AI Mind Pilot” allows users to interact with and compare multiple AI models. For travel, the “AI Menu Translation” tool provides both text translations and visual representations of menu items.
Hardware Performance and Robustness
The Reno16 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 platform, which utilizes AI HyperBoost 3.0 and an advanced cooling system to support 144 Hz refresh rates during gaming. The standard Reno16 model uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform in combination with AI LinkBoost 4.0 to maintain connection stability in congested network environments.
All models support 80-W fast charging and feature IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for water and dust resistance.
Display technology also includes “Splash Touch” and “Glove Touch,” which ensure the screen remains responsive even when used with gloves or in wet conditions.
OPPO Bubble Accessory
In addition to the smartphones, the company unveiled the OPPO Bubble. This 35-gram magnetic accessory features an AMOLED display that can be attached to compatible cases and serves as a preview screen for the main rear camera. It also functions as a remote control from a distance of up to ten meters and allows for custom animations and text displays on its screen.
