The Bravera SC6 is designed to support multi-tiered memory architectures in AI systems. By providing a high-capacity memory tier that can scale to hundreds of terabytes, the controller enables companies to reduce their reliance on expensive, GPU-integrated memory such as HBM or DRAM. This approach decouples working set sizes from GPU capacity, which improves overall resource utilization and reduces the cost of deploying large-scale models. The controller supports high throughput and deep queue parallelism to ensure that data-intensive AI workloads maintain high system utilization. Interface Specifications and Compatibility

The MV-SF1410 features a configurable PCIe host interface that supports the Gen 6 standard while remaining fully backward compatible with PCIe generations 1 through 5. It uses a single-port configuration with four lanes and complies with the NVMe 2.2 specification. To ensure data integrity across the entire storage path, the controller features end-to-end data protection mechanisms.

NAND Flash Architecture and Management

To maximize throughput for modern NAND technologies, the Bravera SC6 supports both the ONFI and Toggle standards via a configurable interface that operates at 1.2 V with speeds of up to 3600 MT/s. The architecture includes 16 NAND data channels, each with eight chip-enables per channel, enabling high-density SSD designs.

For reliability and longevity, the controller utilizes sixth-generation NANDEdge technology as well as an advanced LDPC (Low-Density Parity-Check) error correction engine. It is compatible with various flash types, including SLC, MLC, TLC, and QLC. Additionally, a hardware RAID engine is integrated to improve fault tolerance for intensive enterprise workloads.

Security is managed by a dedicated Cortex-M3 processor operating within a secure environment. The controller features hardware accelerators for AES encryption, SHA hashing, RSA cryptography, and elliptic curve cryptography, thereby meeting the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) standards for authentication and key management. For manufacturing and deployment, the MV-SF1410 offers flexible boot options, allowing the firmware to be initialized via SPI NOR flash or via a Gen-1-speed PCIe interface.

Availability

The Marvell Bravera SC6 PCIe 6.0 SSD controller is expected to be available as samples in the fourth quarter of 2026.
