Current home energy systems often rely on simple schedules to determine when batteries should be charged or discharged. However, when you bring together photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage, dynamic electricity rates, heat pumps, and electric vehicles (EVs), things quickly become much more complex. With Agentic HEMS, Zendur aims to tackle precisely this complexity. The system analyzes the household’s current status, forecasts future trends, and makes autonomous decisions to optimize costs, battery lifespan, and energy security—in other words, the smart approach we’ve long been hoping for.

Technical Architecture and Integration

Agentic HEMS is based on three key technical components:

  • ZenPulse: A proprietary time-series model that generates forecasts for PV generation, electricity prices, weather, and energy consumption.
  • ZENKI AI Agents: These agents use the ZenPulse forecasts to derive and execute specific energy management actions.
  • Zen+OS: An open platform that serves as the technological foundation and connects various applications and decisions throughout the household.

Zen+OS aims to offer greater flexibility through open APIs and support for the MQTT communication protocol, which facilitates integration with smart home platforms such as Home Assistant and Homey, thereby providing more options. The system is compatible with over 5,000 heat pump models and 870 energy providers across Europe, serving approximately 150 million customers. In addition, Zendure offers ZenWave, a dynamic electricity rate plan that enables the system to automatically draw power from the grid during low-price windows.

Integration of Eco-Mobility

Zendure is also expanding its ecosystem to include the automotive and mobility sectors. The RangeFlow e-cargo bike and the smart wallbox from the EVFlow AC series are integrated into the HEMS 2.0 framework. This integration allows users to charge both e-bikes and electric vehicles with energy generated and stored in their own homes.

The RangeFlow cargo bike will be available for testing at the IFA Mobility Track (Booth MT-113) from September 4 through 8, with specific daily time slots designated for testing. Visitors to the booth can also view Zendure components and compatible add-ons in person.
