Ubiquiti introduces new UniFi Enterprise network portfolio with enhanced switching tools and 4.0 firmware

High-Performance Core and Aggregation Switches

This update introduces the Enterprise Core Switch, a 100G device with a non-blocking capacity of 3.2 terabits per second. This hardware is designed as the foundation for large networks and features an expanded MAC forwarding database to handle high traffic volumes.

The Core is complemented by new firmware for the Enterprise Aggregation Switch. This update includes a redesigned multi-chassis link aggregation engine and improved RSTP convergence speeds under heavy load. To reduce network downtime, the firmware introduces hardware-driven reconvergence and expanded MAC learning capacity, ensuring that the network core remains operational even in the event of fiber failures or complete switch failures.

Second-Generation Access Switching

The access layer has been updated with a second generation of switches. These devices combine 10-Gigabit Ethernet connectivity with high PoE capacities to support power-intensive deployments. Security is ensured by hardware-based MACsec. In addition, the switches feature a dedicated 100-Gigabit stacking backplane, which enables a more integrated stacking experience and introduces fault tolerance at the network edge.

Network Visibility and Management

In addition to the hardware updates, UniFi has introduced several tools to improve network visibility and operational stability:

• Visibility Tools: The suite includes “Digital Twin” for network-wide visualization, “Time Machine” for analyzing historical network data, and “Optics Health” for monitoring critical optical links.
• SafeOps: This operational framework is designed to support network architects in designing large-scale infrastructures. SafeOps focuses on eliminating single points of failure and is provided without recurring license fees.
