Integrated Temperature Protection for GPUs

The key feature of this update is the ThermalProtect cable, which enables active monitoring to prevent hardware damage. A temperature sensor integrated into the cable connector—located 30 mm from the GPU connector—continuously monitors the temperature. If the cable temperature exceeds 65 °C, the system automatically shuts down the GPU to reduce the risk of melting or electrical failure.

To facilitate installation and ensure safety, the 12-V 2x6 connectors feature two-color coding. This allows users to visually verify that the cable is fully seated in the socket before powering on the system, reducing the likelihood of connection errors.

Efficiency and Technical Specifications

The updated RM850e and RM1000e models have been upgraded from Cybenetics Gold to Cybenetics Platinum certification and achieve an overall efficiency of up to 91%. This higher efficiency results in lower heat dissipation and quieter operation under heavy load. Technically, the RMe series is fully compliant with the ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. The units use high-quality 105 °C capacitors to enhance long-term reliability and service life.

Design and Noise Management

These power supplies are designed for broad compatibility and feature a compact length of 140 mm, allowing them to fit into most standard ATX cases. The series features a fully modular cabling system that allows users to route only the necessary cables, improving airflow and cable management.

To reduce noise, Corsair has implemented a special fan profile and a ZERO-RPM mode. This feature completely shuts off the fan during low to medium loads, ensuring quiet operation. Both models are available in black or white to match various system designs and come with a seven-year warranty.
