Acer has set out to extend the product lifespan with its new generation of Vero laptops. Most laptops aren’t designed to allow users or repair shops easy access to their internal components. The bottom cover of the Vero can be removed in a single step, providing direct access to the laptop’s fans and PCBs. This allows you to replace the SSD or even remove the entire PCB. The battery is not glued in place but is secured with screws, making it quick to replace. Although the LPDDR5 RAM cannot be replaced, you can purchase individual parts directly from Acer to repair the notebook yourself.

The laptop’s hinge can also be replaced from the back using several screws, which is a rarity in the industry.
Another interesting aspect of the Vero 16 is that it supports processor upgrades across at least two generations, allowing for a significant upgrade to the laptop by simply replacing the motherboard.

Core Ultra Series 300 CPUs and Performance Specifications
For the Vero 16, Acer will rely entirely on Intel’s Core Ultra Series 300 processors. The product lineup includes several configurations, with the top-of-the-line model being the Core Ultra X9 388H. Acer also showcased this configuration and demonstrated the various materials and display panels. Other available options include the Core Ultra X7 358H, the Core Ultra 9 386H, the Core Ultra 7 355, and the Core Ultra 5 325/322. This gives users a wide range of options across every price point. Depending on the chosen processor, users will get either the integrated Intel graphics or the Intel Arc B390.
The laptop features a 16-inch OLED display with several configuration options:
- High-resolution display: 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and HDR brightness of up to 500 nits.
- Standard panel: 1920 x 1200 resolution at 60 Hz.
- Touch panel: A touchscreen version is also available with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.
As for RAM and storage, Acer solder-soldered up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM—which cannot be easily upgraded—and a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD with capacities of up to 512 GB. Here, too, the price of storage is the limiting factor.
The chassis is made from sustainable materials: post-industrial recycled aluminum is used for the top cover and palm rest, while the bottom and display bezel are made from post-consumer recycled plastic. Weighing 1.56 kg, it’s not the lightest, but it’s still reasonably lightweight. The battery is a 71-Wh, four-cell lithium-ion model with fast-charging capability.
The connectivity options are extensive and include:
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports
- Two USB Type-A ports (one USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 3.2 Gen 2)
- One HDMI 2.1 port
- One SD card reader
- Intel Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.6
The Vero 16 also features a 5-MP IR camera with a physical privacy shutter and two vibration-dampened speakers.
Vero 16 Price and Availability
The Acer Vero 16 is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2027. Specific pricing details have not yet been announced. If there is sufficient interest in this modular design, the concept will be expanded to other models.
