Basilisk V4 Pro

The Basilisk V4 Pro retains its unique ergonomic design, which is engineered for extended use, but has been redesigned and is now 12 grams lighter than its predecessor. The layout has been adjusted to optimize the position of the multifunction trigger, enabling a more natural feel. To increase input density, the device now features a total of 14 customizable controls. These include a third side button and a new M1 edge button. Secondary functions can be assigned to these controls via the Razer Hypershift system. Software integration through Razer Synapse enables the implementation of macros and smart profiles that are automatically activated depending on the application being run.

Basilisk V4 HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2 and Input Dynamics

A key new feature of the V4 Pro is the HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2, which offers four different operating modes for navigation:

  • Tactile Mode: Provides a 24-step increment for standard incremental scrolling.
  • Precision Tactile Mode: Increases the resolution to 48 steps for precise control of hotbars and abilities.
  • Free-Spin Mode: Enables fast, smooth scrolling through long documents or lists.
  • Smart Reel Mode: Automatically switches between Tactile and Free-Spin modes depending on scroll speed.

The software also includes a “Virtual Acceleration” feature that offers five acceleration levels to dynamically increase scroll speed based on user input.

Sensor Performance and Wireless Connectivity

At the heart of the internal hardware is the “Focus Pro 50K Gen-3” optical sensor. This sensor supports a maximum sensitivity of 50,000 DPI, a tracking speed of 930 IPS, and an acceleration of 90 G. To minimize input lag, the device uses “HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2,” which enables a true polling rate of 8,000 Hz in both wireless and wired modes.

Several precision tools have been integrated at the software level:

  • Frame-Sync: Synchronizes the sensor sampling with the mouse’s polling cycle to reduce motion lag and optimize energy efficiency.
  • Asymmetric Cut-Off: Allows you to calibrate the lift-off and touch-down distances independently of one another.
  • Perfect 180: A feature designed for FPS players with low sensitivity to perform instant 180-degree turns.
  • Dynamic Sensitivity and Mouse Rotation: Offers fine-tuning options to adjust the sensor axis and response to the user’s individual aiming style.

Primary inputs are processed by the Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-4, which are rated for 100 million clicks. These switches require 12% less actuation force than previous versions and eliminate debounce delay.

The Basilisk V4 Pro features a 7-zone Chroma RGB system with a full under-glow design that emits light downward and outward to ensure high visibility regardless of grip style. Each zone can be configured with 16.8 million colors and is compatible with over 300 titles and 50 partner products.

Connectivity is provided by a five-device system that supports HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth 6.2 (for connecting up to three devices), and a wired connection. Battery life varies depending on the connection mode and lasts up to 200 hours via HyperSpeed at a 1,000 Hz polling rate, as well as up to 275 hours via Bluetooth 6.2.

Wireless Charging Ecosystem: Mouse Dock V2 Pro and HyperFlux V2

Complementing the mouse, the Mouse Dock V2 Pro offers magnetic wireless charging combined with a powerful 8,000-Hz transceiver. This allows the Basilisk V4 Pro to maintain maximum polling rates even while docked. The dock also supports HyperSpeed Multi-Device Support, enabling compatible mice and keyboards to be connected to a single hub. Physical features include 8-zone Chroma RGB lighting on the underside, a charge level indicator, and a non-slip base. For users who prefer a different charging method, the Razer HyperFlux V2 is available as an alternative wireless charging solution.

Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed Variant

For users looking for a lighter device, the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed offers a more compact version. It weighs 94 grams and uses the 3rd-generation Focus X 33K optical sensor. While it retains the ergonomic shape of the Pro version, it features 12 customizable controls and offers a battery life of up to 140 hours.
