The company reported revenue of $114.5 billion for the quarter. This represents a significant increase from the $102.5 billion generated during the same period last year. Quarterly net income totaled $30.7 billion, or $2.10 per diluted share, compared with $27.5 billion and $1.85 per share in the prior-year period.
The gross margin rose to 47.9 percent for the quarter, up from 47.2 percent in the same quarter a year ago. These figures contributed to a record-breaking September quarter in terms of total revenue, earnings per share, and iPhone sales. Revenue from the services segment also reached an all-time high.
Results for the Full 2026 Fiscal Year
The annual figures for fiscal year 2026 show a significant increase over the previous record set in 2025. Total revenue for the year reached $478.8 billion, surpassing the previous high of $416.2 billion set in 2025. Net income totaled $132.2 billion, compared to $112.0 billion in the prior fiscal year.
Revenue by Product Segment
Growth was not uniform across all categories. Mac revenue posted the strongest increase, rising 23.7 percent year-over-year. iPhone revenue followed with a 17.5 percent increase, while the “Services” segment grew by 9.8 percent. However, two segments recorded declines. Revenue from wearables fell by 7.9 percent, and iPad sales declined by 10.4 percent. Despite these losses, the total number of active devices reached a new high across all geographic regions and product categories.
Hardware and Software Innovations
The financial upswing coincided with several product launches in August and September. The company introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as well as the iPhone Duo. Beyond smartphones, the company unveiled a new generation of home hardware and equipped the Mac with touch functionality for the first time. These hardware updates were introduced alongside the new Siri AI.
Capital Allocation and Market Reaction
Apple generated $28 billion in operating cash flow during the quarter and distributed the same amount—$28 billion—to its shareholders. The company also announced a quarterly dividend of $0.27 per share. The payment is scheduled for November 16 for shareholders of record as of November 12. The stock market reacted with a slight decline. The stock fell 1.8 percent during regular trading and lost another 0.25 percent in after-hours trading following the announcement of the financial results.
