The W890-80L is designed to support Intel Xeon 6 series processors. To handle data-intensive workloads, the board has four PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. In addition, MAXSUN has integrated two PCIe Gen5 MCIO 8i connectors, adding another 16 PCIe lanes to the available PCIe lanes. While the company confirmed the presence of multiple M.2 slots for high-speed memory, the exact number and configuration were not disclosed.
The hardware layout emphasizes high PCIe lane density, making the board a viable option for systems requiring multiple accelerator cards or large storage capacities. The inclusion of MCIO connectivity also indicates a shift towards enterprise-level expansion rather than standard consumer desktop use.
During the Summit, MAXSUN also showcased several system configurations utilizing the Intel Arc Pro B70 32GB graphics card. These configurations included micro workstations with two cards as well as larger server setups with four cards. The expandability of the W890-80L is directly aligned with these multi-GPU requirements.
Currently, the MS-WorkStation W890-80L is not listed on the official MAXSUN product pages. As the board has only been seen in event photos, the full technical specifications have not yet been officially confirmed.
