The new 4 TB drive is characterized by the fact that it is one of the first PCIe 5.0 SSDs to use Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND technology. The drive was developed using the eighth generation of BiCS FLASH 3D memory and is designed for installation in standard desktop and laptop systems. By using QLC technology, KIOXIA has increased storage density, effectively lowering the cost per terabyte and making high capacity PCIe 5.0 storage more affordable for a wider range of users.

The EXCERIA G3 4 TB model is designed for high bandwidth tasks. It offers sequential read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 9,600 MB/s. These specifications are designed to significantly reduce load times for large game libraries and improve overall system responsiveness.

For content creation and software development professionals, the drive provides the throughput required for multitasking and processing large files. This includes editing high-resolution video and managing large data sets, with the combination of 4TB of storage and PCIe 5.0 speeds reducing bottlenecks in the creative workflow.

The 4TB EXCERIA G3 SSD will be available from distributors and retailers from June. So far, the KIOXIA EXCERIA G3 SSD with 2TB capacity is available from €239 (Affiliate) and the 1 TB variant for €160.85 (Affiliate). The manufacturer has not announced a price for the 4 TB version.
