Both monitors use 4K QD-OLED panels that achieve a peak brightness of 1,000 nits across 3% of the screen and offer high contrast ratios. To support content with high motion density and ensure quality, the displays feature a 240 Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate technology. Connectivity via HDMI 2.1 enables these speeds at 4K resolution.
Color reproduction is a top priority: Both devices cover 99% of the DCI-P3 spectrum as well as 100% of sRGB and Rec. 709. The use of true 10-bit color depth enables the display of 1.07 billion colors. To ensure consistency, the monitors are factory-calibrated to a Delta E value of less than 1.
Calibration and Management Tools
The PA27USD and PA32USD feature a built-in colorimeter that allows users to perform self-calibration regardless of their operating system. For those who require external validation, the hardware is compatible with Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS.
Calibration profiles are stored on the monitor’s internal scaler IC chip rather than on the connected computer, ensuring that color settings remain consistent across different devices. Additionally, the “ProArt Color Center” online tool enables technicians to manage and calibrate groups of monitors from a central location.
HDR Integration and Industrial Design
The monitors feature Smart HDR technology and support HDR10, HLG for broadcast standards, and Dolby Vision. The physical design is tailored for use in both studio and on-site environments. Each unit comes with two different stand options and a metal handle for transport. The package includes a wraparound bezel that prevents reflections from ambient light; it features a special opening at the top to allow the use of third-party colorimeters without having to remove the bezel.
Connectivity Options and Professional Video Inputs and Outputs
For data transfer and power delivery, the monitors feature two Thunderbolt 4 ports; one supports 96-W Power Delivery for laptops, while the second supports daisy-chaining multiple displays. The connectivity options are rounded out by DisplayPort 2.1 and a USB 3.2 hub.
A key innovation for VFX and professional color grading is the integration of 12G-SDI inputs, which support uncompressed 4K@60Hz video signals. The PA27USD features a single 12G-SDI port, while the PA32USD is equipped with two.
OLED Longevity and Maintenance
To minimize the risk of screen burn-in, ASUS has integrated a range of OLED Care features. These include “Panel Protection”—which uses pixel shifting, screen savers, and an auto-shutdown function—as well as “Image Protection,” which detects static elements such as taskbars and logos and reduces their brightness.
A proximity sensor further extends the panel’s lifespan by dimming the screen when no user is detected.
Availability and Prices
In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the monitors are available at specialty retailers. The ProArt Display OLED PA27USD costs 2249.90 €, while the PA32USD is priced at 2999.90 €. In certain regions, the purchase price includes a three-month trial of Adobe Creative Cloud services, which can be activated through August 31, 2026.
