The QSW-L2110 series is designed to eliminate the bottlenecks that frequently occur in wired networks when high-bandwidth hardware is integrated, such as Wi-Fi 6, 6E, or 7 access points and high-performance Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems. By utilizing a hybrid architecture of 2.5-GbE and 10-GbE ports, these switches enable higher data throughput without requiring a complete overhaul of the existing cabling infrastructure, as the 2.5-GbE Base-T ports remain compatible with standard Cat-5e and Cat-6 cables.

The series is divided into two specific configurations to meet different infrastructure requirements:

  • QSW-L2110-10T: This model is designed for copper-based environments. It features two 10-GbE Base-T ports (RJ45) for high-speed uplinks or server connections, supplemented by eight 2.5-GbE Base-T ports for connecting workstations and other peripheral devices.
  • QSW-L2110-2S8T: This model is specifically tailored for scenarios requiring long-distance transmission or the cascading of core switches. It offers two 10-GbE SFP+ fiber ports for flexible uplink options and eight 2.5-GbE Base-T ports for local device connectivity.

Lite-Managed Functionality

To bridge the gap between simple, unmanaged switches and complex Layer 2 (L2) managed switches, QNAP has introduced a “Lite-Managed” approach. This system is controlled via the QSS web interface, which provides essential management tools without requiring the steep learning curve of full-fledged enterprise-class management software.

Network administrators can use the following features to optimize traffic and security:

  • VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network): Enables network segmentation to improve security and reduce broadcast traffic.
  • QoS (Quality of Service): Enables the prioritization of critical traffic to ensure stability for latency-sensitive applications.
  • LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol): Provides the ability to aggregate multiple ports to increase the total available bandwidth between devices.

In addition to its silent operation, the QSW-L2110 series complies with the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard. This technology reduces power consumption during periods of low data activity by automatically adjusting power levels, thereby contributing to lower operating costs and improved energy efficiency.
