Unlike many embedded systems that rely on proprietary dimensions, the RUC-2000H utilizes a modular 2U half-rack format. This design allows two individual units to be combined into a standard 19-inch rack configuration known as the RUC-2000G. To accommodate different deployment scenarios, the system can be placed on a table, mounted on a wall or placed in a standard rack. This modularity is intended to simplify maintenance and enable a thermal design that supports continuous operation.
Industrial connectivity and expandability
The RUC-2000 series focuses on high bandwidth data transmission and sensor integration. The network configuration includes one 10 GbE port and five 2.5 GbE ports to ensure deterministic data flow at the edge. To optimize the integration of multiple cameras, the platform supports up to eight GMSL2 interfaces, reducing the dependency on external hardware converters.
For data integrity and availability, the system has two hot-swappable SSD bays that support RAID 0/1. This is complemented by hot-swappable storage options to ensure fast recovery and minimal downtime. In addition, the system includes a PCIe x16 slot with x8 bandwidth that can accommodate a GPU with power consumption of up to 200W, providing scalability for increasing computing requirements.
Environmental resistance and reliability
To ensure reliability in locations exposed to extreme temperatures, dust and vibration, the RUC-2000H features a fanless architecture. This design eliminates the risk of failure associated with dust buildup in mechanical cooling systems. The hardware is validated to MIL-STD-810H standards and designed for 24/7 operation. In addition, the system supports a wide DC input voltage range to protect against power supply fluctuations in industrial environments.
Samples of the RUC-2000 series are available now through local ASUS representatives.
